STAY CALM WITH BATH AND BODY WORKS MALAYSIA

It's an American retailer under the L Brands umbrella, along with Victoria's Secret. It sells body care, hand soaps and home fragrance.

So far, there are 19 stores in Malaysia (soon to be 20 because I saw a new store about to open in IOI City Mall Putrajaya, not sure when it's going to open. Please let me know if you know!).

Locate the nearest store to you nowwwww : Bath & Body Works in Malaysia

My personal collection. Well, it started only in January 2020 when someone bought for me 3 items (body mist, cleansing hand gel and body cream) from the store. Thank youuuuuuuuuu!

It's still a small collection (very small) and the aim is to have different scents for different products. For instance, if I have the scent in the shape of candle, I won't purchase the scent for body mist. It's hard to have a favourite because they have variety of scents. So, I don't see myself buying a full range of a specific scent. We'll see how it goes next year!

Here are my collection and I'll provide the link for every items :

Body Care

There are body wash, shower gel, body scrub, foot scrub, hand scrub, body wash accessories (like loofah or cosmetic bag), body lotion and cream, hand cream and their body fragrance which includes body sprays and mists, perfumes and colognes.

I love the part where they sell men perfumes and colognes as well.

These are mineeee :

  • Fine Fragrance Mist : A Thousand Wishes

I love this fancy scent. It has a hint of musk too it with the floral and fruity scent. Fades into a warmer, more mature scent. It's really well-balanced so it's not too overwhelming.

  • Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Body Cream : Cactus Water

Cream itself is thicker in consistency than lotions and provide a barrier that keeps skin ultra-hydrated. Additionally, it is infused with hyaluronic acid. Try this out if you need something that hydrates your skin instantly. This is a powerful hydrator indeed. It doesn't leave any greasy feels afterwards so good enough. It's lightly fragranced with notes of dewy cactus of course, bergamot so you can smell hint of citrus just slightly and also white tea.

I couldn't find it on their website. Maybe it got discontinued hewwwww

Hand Sanitizers

In Malaysia, they only sell the PocketBac Cleansing Hand Gel. RM 11.00 for 29ml but they always have this promo : Buy 3 For RM 30 or 5 For RM 45. So, know when you should buy it 😉

However, they have hand sanitizer sprays and a bigger size of hand sanitizers on their main website. Here's an example :

TEMPTING but not available in Malaysia.

  • PocketBac Cleansing Hand Gel : Mad About You

I chose this because it has glittersssssssss! So you'll have glitters all over your hands if you apply this. Do avoid touching your face later on.

Let's talk about the scent. It screams fruity all the way as the top notes are Big Strawberry, Black Currant and Cassis. It also has that nice lingering smell of musk that you won't smell much of the floral part of it. It actually is a mixture of flowers such as peony and jasmine but I can only smell the fruity part real bad.

Home Fragrance

They sell candles and air fresheners (for rooms and cars).

For candles, they have 3-Wick Candles and Single Wick Candles.

  • Single Wick Candle : Gingham

Gingham is their best selling scent for their body care range as well.

This one smells sooooo refreshing. I feel like I'm in a shower because it smells like soap! Floral and fruity altogether.

  • 3-Wick Candle : Apple Weather

A combination of Apple+Cinnamon+Lavender = Apple Weather

This one, the cinnamon is overpowering but apple and lavender just balance it. It's kindda nice!
  • 3-Wick Candle : Aromatherapy, Stress Relief

My ultimate stress reliever

This is just one of their aromatherapy range. Eucalyptus itself is very fresh as it includes a hint of minty and lemony. The tea is just to balance it out so the minty and lemony scent doesn't smell too sharp.

I have been having some sleeping problems. It started when we were banned from travelling. I cried almost everyday in March and April. Learning online was super hard and you just to be at your study table almost 24 hours. I bought a scented candle from Typo in May and I love it. The problem is that it's too pricey for the size of it.

Then, I figure I should try scented candles from body works because they have sooooooo many different scents. Fruity, floral, musky and so many for for everyone.

I think Typo only have 5 scents if I'm not mistaken and I only love one of it - Sparkle Bellini Scented. Soooo good smells like citrus and bubblegum.

I honestly feel that scented candles like this just help me with it. It always makes me feel calm and relax. Also, try light up scented candles when you're studying. It works for me!

It has been a rough year with a bad start but amazing ending. I am very grateful for everything that happened in 2020.

Hoping for the best next year, so let's get prepared by staying calm and relax hehe <3

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Part 2 : Short Day Trip To IPOH!

Hi guys! The travel restriction in Malaysia has been lifted in December and we can travel across state borders now. Anyone planning to visit Ipoh, Perak? Here's a post for you.

Frankly, this is a long overdue post. Check out this post and you'll understand why hehe : Part 1 : Short Day Trip to Ipoh !

Part 2 here has been in the draft box forever now, it's time to share with everyone. Let's continue from where we left off in Part 1!

Third Stop : Gunung Lang Recreational Park

Here is the view from their parking space. I took this picture just to inform to my parents that we have arrived at our destination 😅 Don't worry, parking is foc. At first, it looks like a R&R.

To be honest, we wanted to visit Gua Tempurung at first but it was a short day trip. So, best to be very realitistic with our plans 😂

Gua Tempurung would be more adventurous and just will require more time there (based on my readings). On the other side, Gunung Lang is a recreational park. Where you can ride on a boat, enjoy the view or nature, and ride on bicycles etc. All those lightweight activities.

When I think of it again, it's kindda similar to recreational parks in Putrajaya? Just that Gunung Lang is kindda real nature. They have a troop of monkeys there. Not so friendly guys, obviously we couldn't take their pictures because they just chased us whenever they saw us in 500m radius from them.... It's okay, that's nature right!

This is where you wait to ride on a boat to go on the other side!

While waiting, you can feed a school of fish down there and there was a creep of tortoises too. HUGE! I rarely see tortoises so I was super excited to see them at that time 😆

Now, about the tickets. You'll see a counter there, you can buy the tickets to ride the boat. I think it was around RM5-RM7 per person. Sorry this is the problem of procrastinating, you will forget things. Also, you can purchase fish food pellets too! Price was around RM1-RM3. There are ponds on the other side too. Just don't let the monkeys have it okay.

Izyan & I. After the boat ride, this is where you'll be.

There were traditional houses but it was empty inside. I guess we only need to focus on the architectural design of the houses for us not to forget how traditional houses look like.

Here's a sneak peak! Go and see for yourself! ;)

Credits to Fateen for capturing most of the pictures here. I think we were trying to see who have bigger eyes?

I have a fun fact that I would like to share about eyes!

Do you know that ostrich has the largest eye of any living land animal? Plus, an ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain.
Isn't that interesting?! Lately, I have been so interested with animals. If I couldn't fall asleep at night, i would watch videos from BBC Wildlife. It's sooooo cool and calming. Ehem, anyone would like to go on a zoo trip? :p This was my post on Singapore Zoo earlier this year. I was so mesmerized with the environment that I didn't take much pictures 😂

The amount of energy used at Gunung Lang was unexpected. I guess it was because of all that running around from the monkeys and it was also scorching hot since we went there around noon. After that all fun and games with the nature, we wanted to visit Miker's Food but it only opens at 5PM-11PM. Take note of this if you're thinking of going for a short day trip okay!

So, we ended up choosing this one Chinese Muslim restaurant randomly on the Internet and it was gooooooooood!

Fourth Stop : Restoran Pakcik Wong

We ordered this. NYUMS!

Food : 8/10
Price : 8/10
Ambience : 8/10

Visit their page for more info and do not forget to visit them whenever you're in Ipoh okie!

Facebook Page : Restoran Pakcik Wong

Final Stop : Hokkaido Ice Cream Puff (Ipoh)

I just loveeeeeeee creampuffs but I don't like Hokkaido Cream Puff. This one, it's with ice cream in between. LOVE IT!

Picture from Hokkaido Icecream Puff Ipoh

We tried out Choco O Chip and Chip Chocolate! Such basic flavors but if you have tried or will try other flavors please let me know so that I can try it whenever I visit there again <3

Overall, it was a memorable short trip with them. People say "Friends that travel together, stay together". Thank you to all my friends who decided to join this trip where I craved for some Ipoh Ice Ball 😂

A for amazing friends <3

AM I GOING BANKRUPT?!

Welcome back to another long overdue post. This was in November 2019 and yes I have been saving this over a year now but it's time to share with everyone hereeeeeee.

For UiTM students, we have Co-curricular activities as subjects. 3 credit hours, 1 per semester. So, 3 semesters in total. Sounds simple and easy isn't it? It would be fun if you chose something fun for yourself and you can enjoy the classes instead of stressing out about it more than your core subjects 😂

For me, I chose something that was fun and I can score easily.

Whatever choices you make makes you. Choose wisely. - Roy T. Bennett

Hence, I chose Financial Management! Personally, it's very simple. It feels like going to finance seminar once every week instead of a class where you need to learn and apply it in your assignments etc. For our final semester (Co-curricular activity), we need to give back to the society. We came up with a collaboration programme with the Entrepreneur Club from USM, Penang. The audience/participants were from first year students in USM.

UiTM- USM CONNECTION DAY

MONEY LIFE HACKS

It relates to our subject Financial Management. Hence, we put our utmost efforts in giving awareness of the importance of managing their finance and consequences of lavish spending especially in enjoying their next few years in the university.

This was a forum discussion. On the left side, a final year student in USM who actually opens up a business in the university that also includes food delivery (giving chances for students who wants to do part time job in the uni). Such a great initiative and the goal is always to help those who are in need.

I remember telling them (the participants) how easy it was for youth to be declared bankrupt in the future. Especially when you start of with having debts right after graduation. What debts? If you took your study loans, you'll automatically be in debt after you finish your studies.

Also at that point of time, a statement came out by the Minister of Finance where a total of 100,610 Malaysians were declared bankrupt, of which 60% were between 18 and 44 years old in between  2013 and 2017 where the bankruptcy threshold from RM50,000. If you have that amount of debt and unable to pay that amount you might be declared bankrupt. In addition to that you must have defaulted in payment for a period of six months and resided in Malaysia for at least one year.

What was the initiative made by the government now?

The government has agreed to raise the minimum bankruptcy threshold from RM50,000 to RM100,000 in the Insolvency Act 1967.  In other words, creditors may only file for bankruptcy action against their debtors if the debt owing is more than RM100,000.

Did you know that Section 5 (which is on the minimum bankruptcy limit or minimum bankruptcy threshold) of that Act has been amended four times now?

Since the Act came into force in 1967, the original minimum debt threshold was RM2,000. Since then, the minimum debt threshold has increased to RM10,000 in 1992, RM30,000 in 2003, RM50,000 in 2017 and subsequently RM100,000 in 2020.

Is that enough?

Apparently no. What we need is to increase financial literacy among us.

What is financial literacy?

According to the National Financial Educators Council, financial literacy is the ability to manage financial resources effectively for a lifetime of financial security.

Being a financial illiterate, we will end up making poor financial decisions such as overspending and keeps exceeding the limits of our credit cards.

I have found a great initiative made by students for students 💖

Meet Financial Literacy for Youths (FLY). Do check out their publications especially on personal finance!

Also, get yourself a financial planner guys.

How should financial planner looks like?

If you have read my planner post : SYABAB PLANNER and purchase it, you'll receive a financial planner. So, you're on the right track.

However, we can always take baby steps.

Make your own financial planner by keeping track of your monthly expenses.

Yes, have a notebook specifically for your financial management. Jot down all your expenses either daily, weekly or monthly. Additionally, if you're working or receiving any allowance please jot down in the notebook as well.

How to avoid overspending?

1. Set a budget.
  • Start by adding up all your sources of income and then tally up all your fixed expenses, such as car payments, rent, debt repayments, etc.
  • List your variable spending, such as groceries, gas and entertainment, allocating funds to each category based on how much you’ve normally spent in the past.
  • Then you can adjust on which categories should you spend more or less

2. Choose cash over credit cards

It's so easy to purchase when all you need is to swipe the card or enter a pin number. You'll only get a receipt of how much you spent not how much you have left. For me, I would have cash in my purse and I would only put in of how much I target to spend on that day. If I'm out of cash, I would remind myself to stop spending hehe.

3. Understand what triggers you to spend more.

Why do you have the need to splurge?

Environment?
Do you live next door to a shopping mall and tends to splurge there? I experienced this in 2019 and yes that was exactly my issue 😂

Emotions?
Do you spend your money when you get all stressed out?

Understanding what triggers you can help you avoid overspending.

If we can really understand the problem the answer will come out of it because the answer is not separate from the problem. - Jiddu Krishnamurti

We only spent a day with the USM students but we hope that it benefits them 💖 Here are some photos from that day.

An ice breaking session with the participants

Lunch! We conducted an explore race as well. Theme : Finance

Remember Izyan? Here's Adleen who I felt that she's super similar with Izyan. I wish both of them get to meet each other one day 😉

Here are my amazing classmates for 2 semesters. My lecturer in the middle at the back also hehe! Thank you for not putting much burden on us for this subject.

I am grateful for this outreach programme as it helped me a lot to get along with my classmates better. Throughout our classes, my aim was just going to class and get good grades but this programme brought it to another level.

Thank you to the Entrepreneur Club of USM. The success of the programme is yours as well and thank you for contributing to our grades 😁

Psssst : A new category is on the left side now, stay tuneeeeeee ;)

KL BAR E-MOOT COMPETITION 2020

Hi everyone! It's almost the end of 2020 and I would like to share one of my huge commitment throughout 2020. In April 2020, I was chosen as the Student Ambassador (SA) for Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee Young Lawyers Committee (KLBCYLC). 11 SAs including me from various law schools in Malaysia (Public & Private University).

Our main goal was to assist KLBCYLC organizing their first E-Moot Competition! If you're not sure what Moot Competition is, read here first : My personal mooting experience

The KL Bar E-Moot Competition was conducted on 28-29 November 2020 through ZOOM.

Due to the pandemic, to organize a physical moot competition would be difficult for the participants to attend the competition physically as we know that most classes are conducted online now so students would be at their home which might not be any near to Kuala Lumpur. Also, there was a Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in Malaysia at that time which does not allow citizens to cross state borders.

It was such an amazing experience for me as I was involved from the very beginning of the organizing process. Tried designing the posters (not chosen hehe) and even helped promoting the competition to encourage more participants (local & international) to join the competition. Improved my networking skills as well.

We have 11 SA's, so we divided among ourselves to network with our designated universities. 3-4 universities that I need to contact and encourage them to join the competition. It was hard at first when you don't know anyone from the university.

That was when LinkedIn came to the rescue! I emailed or messaged anyone on LinkedIn from that university. Mostly students that are a part of the high committees of mooting club/law society club in their universities. Of course some wouldn't reply. Probably because we were never a connection at the first place. So, I ended up emailing to the Dean of the Law Faculty from all the universities! It actually worked, okay just one university responded but phewww :")

Acted as the Co-Logistic Director for KL BAR E-Moot Court Competition 2020 was an interesting experience as I need to figure out how the ZOOM app works. The breakout rooms, help button etc in order for me to explain to the other volunteers, participants and judges. Super tough as I'm not a tech savvy but I'm always keen to learn. Lucky me, another Co-Logistic Director was Charmiane who has been through such experience for LAWASIA.

One of the preliminary rounds that I joined.
One of the preliminary rounds that I joined as well.

This is so new to me because I rarely have the opportunity to watch how other law student moots in the prelims and it doesn't require me to moot. Less anxious right there for me hehe.

A photography session with the semi final rounds' judges and committee members.

Semi final rounds. The participants were so amazing.

FINAL ROUNDS!

Throughout this experience,  I love advocacy tips and feedback session the most. Coming from lawyers and real-life judges, it's something valuable that I would remember and try my best to avoid the do's and don'ts.

To all law students who are reading this, do keep an eye of KLBCYLC's social media accounts and apply for their ambassadorship programme. You will never regret it. At first, I only wanted to apply and try out the interview as the interviewers are lawyers. It was an online interview and I didn't put much hope on it. I told myself that I just wanted to experience the interviews (I had few online interviews in 2020 for my internship but few stopped there).

Have you thought about your future commitments in 2021? Comment down below ;)  I'm going to start tweeting again in 2021!

The Beginning of Anything You Want

As a student, the first month of the semester is always important and which actually may illustrate the end result of the semester.

I guess because I'm a strong believer of this quote :

BY FAILING TO PREPARE, YOU ARE PREPARING TO FAIL - BENJAMIN FRANKLIN

I started my semester with planning a lot of things for the next 6 months. It sounds crazy but it is doable when you have a planner. I lost my planner for the first two weeks of the semester and trust me when I say I procrastinate a lot without feeling guilty because my planner was not around and I could not vision what I was supposed to do at that time instead of procrastinating. Fret not! I found my planner after putting an effort looking for it hehe

Here's a sneak peak into my humble planner :

It's a monthly planner where I only focused on anything related to my studies.

This is the front cover which illustrates the inside. I bought mine from MUJI store at KLCC last year.
Unfortunately, I can't find it on their website (Malaysia) but here's from MUJI Singapore. Best part I found one for you guys on Shopee

I would usually draft my schedule during the weekends to see the outline of my upcoming week. Firstly, I'll jot down my classes. When I see a small space or gaps, I will fill it in with revision time, discussion with friends/groupmates, finishing assignments/tutorial questions/presentations and of course mooting!

As you can see I only have planner that focuses more on my studies only. It's best to have a planner for your daily life as well.

My dearest friend Izyan decided to surprise me with a new planner for 2021!

Shoutout to Izyan for making this post became a reality. If she did not surprise me with the planner, you guys won't be reading this post :p

My exact feelings when the parcel arrived at my home, wish I could hug her there and then. I did not expect it at all and I even cried a bit. Thank you Izyan for always supporting me <3

THE SWEET SURPRISE : SYABAB MARBLE EXCLUSIVE PLANNER 2021

Marble Exclusive Planner 2021

If marble is not for you, they have 3 other designs for this exclusive planner!

Moonlight Exclusive Planner 2021

Magazine Exclusive Planner 2021

Masterpiece Exclusive Planner 2021

The planner is sooooo colourful! You won't get bored of it and it just excites you everytime you open it. It has a laminated cover so the cover will never look dull at all.

Now, let's focus on the unique structure of the planner and you'll understand why these Syabab Exclusive Planner is worth for every dime you spent.

1) Monthly Overview. You can note down all the important events/submissions here.

Monthly Overview

It's just like a calendar where you jot down the most important things you need to remember. Important dates in the semester, examinations, webinars, interviews, all your family members' birthdays and friends too and more! My birthday is on 12th of April, please insert that too yeah! ;)

2) Daily Planning. Sufficient vertical space everyday contains 3 sections : Today's Intention, To-do List and I Am Grateful For.

Daily Planning

Also, there are 4 boxes below for each month. In the picture, red is DO IT NOW and yellow is PLAN IT. Another two boxes is in another page which are green for DELEGATE and blue for DROP IT. There's also a reminder box and weekly affirmation at the side! If your personal preference is horizontal planner, you might find this confusing at first.

This part of the planner is quite unique as it inserts Today's Intention. Setting daily intentions matters the most as it helps us focus our goals everyday.  It serves as a roadmap. So, even when the process is slow, we know we’re on the right track.

“It is more important to be of pure intention than of perfect action.” - Ilyas Kassam

I Am Grateful For : This part is essential to help you appreciate all the commitment you gave the whole day. At the end of the day, it is always important to reflect yourself to be better tomorrow but still being grateful of what you have achieved today <3

3) Islamic Practices. Monthly there will be Tajweed Rules of the Qur'an, Letters To My Creator, Mutabaah Amal and so much moreee. I'm just gonna share two here.

Tajweed Rules of the Qur'an. Here's an example from April!

Here is a space for you to list down the Du'a you have for your self, parents & grandparents, spouse+children & family and friends & muslim ummah.

These are just a few points from me which made it unique in the market. Don't worry if you never try a planner before because this planner is helpful as it's very detail. The price is super affordable. Remember that you won't just be getting just a planner but also other items as mentioned above.

If you feel like it would be overwhelming, try the MUJI monthly planner first okie <3

Farah 4 Years Ago

Hi everyone, I hope everyone is doing well currently despite of this pandemic. It came across my mind of how scared I was when I was 18 years old. Decided to study law without knowing how it works.

As a science stream student during my high school year and dreamt of becoming a doctor, it was really awkward and difficult for me to study law at first. I gotta say that passion that put me here now. Without a doubt, I feel like I'm more into writing and critical thinking that law seems fit for me. It is okay if you're still unsure, it's a process.

Life is a process, life is short. Do what makes you happy. For me, I find happiness in studying law. I feel content reading the law and understand the law with it's impact towards the society. Here, I would like to share my short article. I bet I was ranting about this but instead of talking, I wrote it down. You can see how imperfect it is. I did not change a thing and looking at it now, I feel happy to see how much I've grown. Thank you family, friends and teachers for all the support.

UPHOLDING WOMEN’S RIGHTS IN MALAYSIA

Feminism. A word that has always been misperceived. The real definition of feminism is a belief that women and men should have equal rights and be given equal treatments. Article 8(2) of the Federal Constitution promotes gender equality but how about in practice?

In 2014, Emma Watson who was elected as the UN Women Goodwill Ambassador launched a campaign called ‘HeForShe’ in the hopes of ending gender inequality said, "No country in the world can yet say that they achieved gender equality. These rights are considered to be human rights". Feminism has become popular. Everyone wants to join this noble movement. Sadly, nobody really understands what they are fighting for.

In Malaysia, Women are protected by the law against domestic violence including under Domestic Violence Act 1994. Even under the Penal Code, women may charged their husbands for acts of abuse excluding Section 375 (Rape). Marital Rape (non-consensual sexual intercourse in marriage) is not, in and of itself, illegal, but a man who "causes hurt or fear of death or hurt to his wife or any other person in order to have sexual intercourse with his wife" commits a crime under Section 375A of the Penal Code.

Another current issue is regarding child marriage. “Why study if you’ll end up in the kitchen?” Girls are deprived from getting education just because we always believe that no matter how good they are, men will always be better for the upper position. Malaysia’s workforce comprises approximately 47 per cent of women even though there are more female undergraduates now than males.

Feminism is a mindset and everyone should obtain that mindset that no matter what, people are people and no one should be considered less or more. Everyone is equal.

The Origin Superior Coolmax®️ Latex Pillow by Origin Mattress

Hello guys, it's the 3rd day of the semester.  I just know that when the semester starts again, I will have less time to sleep. I would always sleep at 3am or 4am which actually includes long hours in front of the laptop and wake up at 6.30am to prepare for my 8am class. So, I feel that it's super essential for me to sleep comfortably so that my body would not feel super exhausted.

Psst, Origin Superior Coolmax®️ Latex Pillow is my new partner!

I received the pillow 6 days ago. Look at that happy face 😁
When I was opening the package, I could only think about changing my sleeping patterns and could finally bid farewell to all the neck pain and shoulder aches.

Characteristics of the best pillow that you need :

- Hypoallergenic
- Alleviates Pain and Aches
- Designed by Orthopedics
- Anti-Bacterial

No wonder that this Origin Mattress's Pillow is also featured as 1 of the Best 8 pillows to buy in Singapore 2020. You guys must check out this article - BEST 8 PILLOWS IN SINGAPORE

Yes, this pillow is definitely the most important thing that I need to get through this semester. This pillow helps me get a good night sleep that I need. The softness and comfort that this pillow offers is heavenly amazing. I sleep like a baby now. No more neck pain. Imagine what my body felt like after long hours of working in front of the computer. Sore neck and shoulder aches everyday. Fortunately, I have the Origin Superior Coolmax®️ Latex Pillow to the rescue woohoo!

I believe that this is a long term investment, we need our body forever right.

Meet the Founders!
Shaun and Gee knew buying a mattress is bank busting business. They understood that mattresses were a long term investment and that shopping for one brought endless unfamiliar terminologies and pushy salesmen. Together, they ended the overwhelming and confusing experience with a seamless process when purchasing mattresses so that everyone can rest easy, quite literally. They did away with the unnecessary hassles to come up with Origin Malaysia.

DID YOU KNOW?

They started on their dream this by studying consumers and building the perfect sleep formula. We performed extensive tests like Polysomnograms, Multiple Sleep Latency (MSL) and Maintenance of Wakefulness Tests (MWT) to study how the type of bedding can affect the quality of sleep based on a range of factors from age, lifestyle and sleeping postures. Undoubtedly, their efforts paid off. It's surely worth every penny

Try them out guys!

Preparing For My Third Year of Law Degree

My first class will be on 12th October 2020, 8AM!

This would be our second online semester due to this pandemic. [Stay at home, be safe and let's flatten the curve so we can have physical classes, yeah?]

For the first semester, I swear it was so difficult. I cried almost every single day including weekends. The reason was not because of how hard the subjects were but because I felt suffocated. When I have online classes, I'll usually be at home. It was crazy how I felt like I have classes 24/7, which is quite true. Having the lecturers sending assignments at the middle of the night or sending lecture notes during weekends gave me anxiety.

So, it's always safe to plan well. Keeping track of academics, curriculum activities and some side things to keep sane.

Have your planner ready or have that digital sticky note on your laptop. It really helps me a lot. It feels like I can finally breathe again when I see I have few free days to actually get the work done before the deadline. [If you love to procrastinate, set a day as your carefree day or me time]

For online classes, I love Google Drive so much right now. I literally put everything there. I would set up a folder of every subjects and will upload my notes, lecture slides, tutorials etc. I would also also do my assignment there and share it my groupmates if any. Super convenient! Don't forget to lend a hand to others especially they ask for help. To me, the more things you share especially knowledge, the more you get.

Example :

Don't forget to have your social time. It's best to have friends along the way too. A text or a call would be nice. This is so weird but I love getting calls or texts friends at random times. The hello that you never expect. Warmth. That's the word that can describe the feeling.

When I say social time, it's not the time you spend on your social media scrolling through other people's pictures, tiktok videos or tweets. Have a time where you actually connect with people. Have a catching up session, really getting to know what they have been doing etc.

Good luck everyone, start gather your notes and books now! <3

Happy 63rd Independence Day, Malaysia!

Remember that iconic scene where Tunku Abdul Rahman cries out "Merdeka!" 7 times? That was 63 years ago now. I am just 21 years old and I cannot say I truly understand that feeling. The freedom our country gained decades ago. Thankfully, that freedom allows me to be here today.

However, the definition of Merdeka is wider than that. It's not just about the freedom we gained. Not just about no longer a British Colony.

Merdeka can bring lots of meaning to different people. Unity can be Merdeka, flourished country can be Merdeka, maybe Merdeka is also when our citizens are stronger together. No poverty, no barriers between each other. No more huge gaps between the poor and the rich and where education is accessible to everyone. Just maybe if that picture can be paint easily, Merdeka might be more meaningful. More celebrated by everyone. Merdeka should never be just another public holiday with no/minimal celebration.

I am feeling more patriotic than usual this year. Getting sentimental when I can't see any Jalur Gemilang flags on the vehicles on the road this year. It made me think for awhile, can we actually forget our Independence Day? Can we actually forget all the sacrifices our ancestors made? All the blood shed for this nation's freedom?

To more Independence Day together, in a more flourished country where we have stronger unity.

Here's a quote from our founding father, Tunku Abdul Rahman.

We are all Malaysians, this is the bond that unites us. Let us always remember that unity is our fundamental strength as the people and as nation.

Part 1 : Short Day Trip To IPOH!

Went to Ipoh, Perak yesterday with Izyan and Fateen. Dragged Afiq along as our guardian hiks. Departed at 6.45 a.m and arrived around 9.30 a.m.

First Stop : New Hollywood Canning Garden

Our first stop for breakfast/brunch. There were so many options to choose from. The picture shown was only the first round of the meal. Love the pudding caramel! It's not extremely sweet that it fits well to eat during breakfast.

Food : 4/5
Price : 4/5
Ambience : 3/5

Second Stop : Concubine Lane

Despite of the scorching hot weather, I am glad to indulge into the Ice Balls! It's the determining factor to come to Ipoh. Devastated at first to see the store closed. Fortunately, another store (Bits & Bobs) was opened.

Here is Izyan and I. Look how focused she is in this picture. We can choose 3 flavors for the ice ball. Mine is Sarsi, Orange and Sirap!

Next : Platf9rm Coffee & Brew Cafe

Visit this Harry-Potter themed cafe for some good old butterbeer.
