Taman Eko Rimba - Hutan Simpan Bukit Nanas Kuala Lumpur
I am an acrophobic. Well, acrophobia is one of the most common phobias. Fear of heights which can induce the feelings of panic, panic attacks, nausea or dizziness. I have decided to overcome my fear. I wanted to challenge myself and see how far can I go. What a mission.
I found out about Taman Eko Rimba from a story posted on Instagram. Interesting. Nature in the middle of the city. The canopy walk that is very popular excites me. Bonus point! There is no admission fee. Yes, you can spend your day there for freeeeeeeee.
My focus was definitely on the canopy walk only. I have no intention to go jungle trekking there. So, I went there when it was nearly closed. Around 4pm. It opens as early as 8pm and closes at 5pm. It was bit unplanned for me because I decided to go there when it was almost noon. Those unplanned trips are usually gonna work out. Had lunch at Nu Sentral before going there because it was really hot seriously.
Overall, the place is very clean. The place is also defined well by it's name. Forest. Definitely a forest.
Now, the canopy walk. 200 metres long. Not sure bout the height but it's not too high. An acrophobic like me would cry i think because i almost cried but there were so many tourists and the kids were so happily running across the canopy walk. Yes, running. Meaning, it's very safe. Unless, you're an acrophobic. I was really dizzy and my legs were shaking but glad i made it through. Motivated by those actively running kids.
Tips :
1) Wear comfortable shoes and clothes
You need comfortable shoes because the stairs. It kills you. The bridge is nothing guys. Stairs, the biggest enemy for someone who rarely exercise like me.
Clothes get something light. Malaysia is hot. When you reach the top, it gets hotter.
2) Bring a bottle drinking water with you
Just bring one bottle. Don't burden yourself when it supposed to help you. To ensure you will not dehydrated.
3) If you an acrophobic, go with someone who is not.
A great partner for the mission!
At least, you will be forced to finish what you started. Don't you ever dream of going down the stairs back after climbing it. You will regret it trust me.
4) Take lots of photos.
The view is amazing. Worth the climb. I'm regretting it. Wanted to make a video but i was too scared and shaking to record anything.
It was a great place. Would love to go there next time in the morning!
This place is also very near to the KL Tower and KLCC. Plan your day well. You can enjoy so many exciting activities there.
Go there and share with me your experience.
